Costa Rica is renowned for its high-quality coffee, which is grown in 8 distinct regions across the country. Some of the prominent coffee regions in Costa Rica include:

  1. Central Valley: This region includes the areas around the capital city of San José and is known for producing some of the finest coffees in Costa Rica. The altitude and climate in the Central Valley are ideal for coffee cultivation.

  2. West Valley: Located west of the Central Valley, this region includes towns such as Naranjo, Palmares, and Atenas. The coffee from this area is often characterized by its peach flavors.

  3. Tarrazú: Situated south of the Central Valley, Tarrazú is one of the most famous coffee-growing regions in Costa Rica.   6. Turrialba: Situated to the east of the Central Valley, Turrialba is known for its volcanic soil, which contributes to the unique flavor profile of its coffee. Coffee from Turrialba is often characterized by its smooth texture and well-balanced acidity.

  7. Orosi: The Orosi region, located in the province of Cartago, is renowned for its coffee production. Orosi coffee is often prized for its balanced flavor profile, with floral notes.

  8. Guanacaste: While primarily known for its stunning beaches and dry tropical forests, Guanacaste also boasts a burgeoning coffee industry. The region's coffee plantations benefit from diverse microclimates, with some areas experiencing cooler temperatures due to higher elevations.
